Cairo, Egypt. The Pyramids and the Sphinx.
I don’t know what I was expecting, but I have to admit I was underwhelmed. First, there was a fear factor involved in the voyage as we were escorted, followed by military-like weapon welding security. As soon as we got off the bus, we had to fight off beggars and street vendors. It was strangulating trying to get a moment away from them in order to glimpse the pyramids.
The Sphinx was smaller then I imagined, but splendor in the fact it was man made without modern tools. After the tour, we enjoyed a very delicious buffet at the Sphinx Pavilion Restaurant. One of the chefs looked like Omar Sharif!
